Advent Retreat
Father Brendan and Father Justin will lead a Catholic 301 Advent Retreat on Saturday, December 17 from 9:00am-12:00pm at the Basilica of the Assumption. The retreat will include the celebration of Mass and an opportunity for confession. Our talks will be based on The Advent of Salvation by Jean Daniélou, SJ. It is not necessary to own or to have read the book in advance, although if desired, it can be purchased through Cluny Media. For planning purposes, we would appreciate it if you would register for the retreat.
Homilies
Father Justin commemorates the anniversary of the dedication of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen by reminding us of the true Temple, the Church, in which the glory of the Lord should be seen. Father Brendan encourages the charity of labor for the everlasting temple of Christ’s body as a response to the hardships Christ warns the Church she will face.
Article
Father Justin reflects on the dissonant end of Duruflé’s Requiem and the Church’s unceasing yet hopeful prayer for the dead.
